You were my friend when I was alone
You were my prayer when I had none
You were my hope in a world void of light
You were a song in the night...

Storm - Drabble

Fear.
The hurricane worsened; an unnatural darkness covered the ocean.

Obey.
Wind tears at the sails; we struggle against it. Salt spray is in my eyes.

Whisper.
The unseen stars, hidden from our view, know how far off-course we’ve gone. Below decks the passengers huddle in the darkness and pray.

Hope.
If morning comes we may be saved.

Faith
If the winds slow we may find shelter.

Pray.
If we don’t come clear soon we may never see another dawn.

Trust.
There are too many lives on board to be lost.

Rule.
The waves command the ocean. We are undone.
